Pacific Seeds is primarily involved in the breeding, development and marketing of hybrid seeds of sunflower, grain sorghum, forage sorghum, pennisetums, maize, canola, wheat, fodder beet and the production and marketing of self pollinated oilseeds and forage seeds. The company markets only proprietary seeds, both privately developed and licensed public cultivars.
Its breeding and selection programs are aimed at sourcing products for the New Zealand market. While local research and selection is a priority and enables the company to fine tune the selection of cultivars for New Zealand, direct links to breeding programs in Europe, North America and Australia ensures the company tests cultivars from some of the world's leading seed breeding programs.
